Angela and Jen's New Years Goals

Everyone is so excited about the year 2010. When enough minds are joined in what Freud called the "Collective Consciousness" individual realities have a huge potential for shift. Let's use this to our advantage. With that in mind, drum roll please, we now present our goals for 2010

Jen
  • Fit into my size 7 jeans (I don't know one female who doesn't share this goal)
  • Plant an herb garden
  • Learn to tightrope walk. (I found a place that sells portable tight ropes that stand about a foot off the ground)
  • Stand Up Paddle from Laguna Beach to San Diego (65 miles)
  • Spend less time on the computer (as I sit here on the computer) and more time outdoors
  • Walk more places than drive
  • Drink one high phytochemical smoothie per day from the Smoothie Formulas recipe book
  • Allow my daughters the freedom to be who they are. (they are 21 and 23 after all)
  • Watch the entire Nightmare on Elm Street series (hey, you gotta have some just for fun goals)
  • Paint three times a week
  • Drink less wine
  • Drink more fine wine
  • Run from Laguna Beach to the top of Saddleback Mountain (32 miles)
  • Get my body (and knee) back into 50 mile running shape
  • Do an all day workout. This starts at 7am, ends at 7pm and includes Bikram Yoga, surfing, and trail running
  • Meditate and pray everyday
  • Watch more sunsets
  • Pick three things every day to be grateful for
  • Cook dinner more often
  • Walk the beach everyday

Angela
  • Be just like my Mom when I grow up

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

  1. These are really lovely goals and I "second" nearly everyone of them! I was thinking of you and your smoothies as I sip on the most horrible smoothy I have yet to drink yet. Spinach + mint + lemon and who knows what else. My boss just served it to me. It is difficult to get down... and am grateful it has been (at least) chilled. :O)

  2. I wanna learn to tightrope walk too!!! It might help improve my balance. These are awesome goals. Would you SUP the 65 miles all in one day?

  3. Monica: We will do the 65 mile SUP in stages. We will not camp, since my idea of roughing it is when room service answers on the second ring. Instead we are going to find some hotels along the way. The first one (the Surf and Sand) is about 1/8th of a mile from the start. JUST KIDDING - maybe on the way back tho'
